Exploring Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay

Intro

I was on Day 03 on my 4-Day adventure aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas. So far, I had gotten to know the ship, and the new Royal Beach Club in Nassau. You can now read the previous posts here:

Today, the plan is to explore the Royal Caribbean’s Private Island Perfect Day at CocoCay. Although, I had been there before, I wanted to see what was new, and it is always good to come back to this amazing island.

Day 03: On the way to breakfast

Before we had the ok from the captain to go into Perfect Day at CocoCay, as always, I woke up to get some coffee at the Cafe Promenade or the Starbucks, and then walk around. The Pesky Parrot bar in the Royal Promenade looked nice this morning. I definitely needed to come back later today.

First time I see an animatronic on a Royal Caribbean ship I think lol. Last similar thing was the Bionic Bar in Ovation of the Seas, sailing to Alaska. That one was a great adventure.

These monkey statues are part of a popular onboard scavenger hunt where guests search for five hidden jewel-eyed monkey sculptures placed in different areas around the ship.

Where to Find the Five Monkeys:

  • Monkey 1 (Surf Monkey): Located up at the Sports Plex on Deck 16, right beside the FlowRider surf simulator.
  • Monkey 2 (Rock Wall Monkey): Found climbing up the ship’s outdoor rock-climbing wall.
  • Monkey 3 (Central Park / Boardwalk Monkey): Positioned near the AquaTheater at the back of the Boardwalk/Central Park area.
  • Monkey 4 (Skateboarding Monkey): Located near the entrance of the Adventure Ocean youth space.
  • Monkey 5 (Promenade Monkey): A smaller statue located right by Guest Services in the Royal Promenade on Deck 5.

After getting ready, it was time for breakfast, since there is no food options until later in the island. For this, I decided to go to Windjammer, the safest and quickest option at this moment.

From this deck, I was able to see the island, and all the people already coming in from the ships.

Finally down a little bit passed 11:00 AM, and Liberty of the Seas was right next to us.

One day I will do the Thrill Waterpark, but today was not the day. I did not have any excursions or add ons for today. I was just here for the vibes, the food, the drinks, and to explore a little bit.

Last time I was here was for the Ultimate World Cruise finale. It was a lot of fun.

Up, Up and Away globe was visible from here, on the way to Chill Island.

The island next door was visible, and it is the Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian private island, which now has a permanent pier. It was crazy to me that guests before had to tender to get there. Inly did that once in Greenland aboard of the Serenade of the Seas’s Ultimate World Cruise.

Passed by one of the food options, but I was still full from Windjammer.

So, decided to go to Oasis Lagoon for a drink and to feel the vibes. This is probably the loudest area in the island, so be aware.

Regardless, it was pretty chill, not too full when I arrived, compared to other times in this side of the island.

I was surprised there were some available seats on the bar, giving there were 2 ships docked here.

Got myself once again, another Pina Colada because if I am in Paradise, of course I gotta get the best drink in the menu.

After a bit, I went for a walk around the Overwater Cabanas. This is the area where I stayed most of the time the first time I came with my family on the Freedom of the Seas, because the water seemed more calm over here.

The pool looked pretty fun to be honest, but I did not even come down here with a bathing suit lol. Maybe next time.

Time to eat something, and these Cuban sandwiches were calling my name.

Plus, I did the hack of the brownies and ice cream from the ice cream stand.

Not me realizing while seeing this sign, how lucky I am to have visited all of these places:

Dinner at Windjammer

Time to get back into the ship, and I found an elephant in the room.

Dinner tonight was going to be at the Main Dining Room. I ordered two main dishes, including the Garlic-Herb Buttered Tiger Shrimp.

And the New York Stripped Steak. Both of them delicious.

For dessert I did not go too crazy, and got the Royal Chocolate Cake. Always a good and safe option.

A night at the bar

With no more shows pending to be seen, I headed to the bars, including the Schooner Bar, which truth be told, I prefer its look in smaller ships.

But as promised myself earlier in the day, I ended up in Pesky Parrot, the Tiki Bar at Utopia of the Seas.

The cocktails had some interesting names and variations.

Got myself a Tiki-Mosa, since it had pineapple, and it was pretty strong. I had to take sips lol.

And this is how my night ends, but I still have one more day aboard the Utopia of the Seas.
