Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party: My Rainy Adventure
Intro
Yes, it was Hurricane Milton and I was not really tracking it. I knew it was going to rain all day, but I did not know it was because of the hurricane. I was hoping 2 things went right: 1. Tonight’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was not cancelled, and 2. My flight tomorrow would not get delayed or canceled.
Accommodation
I left Universal, and Ubered to Four Points by Sheraton Orlando Convention Center, kind of close to SeaWorld. It was already raining, and as soon as I checked in, the ladies at the front desk said it was the hurricane. I was in denial, maybe because I had never had to experience a hurricane in my life, and the weather forecast did not look that bad so far. The room though was great for just my last night in Orlando. I got this hotel converting my Chase points to Marriott and buying it with these points.

It had a living room and the bedroom was apart. I loved it! The location was also great cause now I would just Uber to Magic Kingdom.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party: Early Entry
I am not an Annual Pass holder for Disney World, so I took advantage of the Early Entry to Magic Kingdom and Ubered there, and entered via the Monorail at 4 PM. The event starts at 7 pm, so it’s 3 extra hours that you have to ride attractions, eat, and enjoy whatever the parks has to offer.

It’s always great to be back at Magic Kingdom, and it was my first time coming for a Halloween event. I had been to Oogie Boogie Bash in the West Coast, and the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party here in Magic Kingdom.

There was a special line under this ugly weather for the party, and to differentiate with the regular day guests, we had to go to the right when entering to give us all the information for the event. LOVEEDDD the park all decorated for Halloween, and Fall in general.

At that passageway, they have us the guide map for the event, showing literally everything special for the party.

There were some fog effects on the way to the park, was giving Halloween Horror Nights lol.

They gave us the candy bag, that we knew it was not going to be big enough for all the candy I was going to get lol.

Attractions before the event
And before the party started officially, I wanted to tackle a few attractions that I wanted to see for any reason. For example, the first thing I did was the Country Bear Jamboree, which was refurbished, and updated with new songs, including “Try Everything” from Zootopia, and my favorite artist, Shakira. So of course I had to see it, even though I was never interested in seeing the show before.

Next up, one of the goals for the day, was to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which I had not had the opportunity to do. At the time of arriving, they were still taking the Virtual Queue, but they were aware of the party guests, and were starting taking them as well.

The drop looked so much fun. The last time I rode a similar ride was probably Splash Mountain in Tokyo, since it took so long for them to refurbish this one.

I jumped in line and rode it. I loved all the animatronics, the music, the story, and of course the drops!

The third ride I wanted to do was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, probably one I never miss every time I come to this park, and now in 2025 is closed for refurbishment.

The last ride, and very appropriate for the event, was Haunted Mansion, which also had something new and was the Hatbox Ghost at the beginning.

And now that I had been running around the back of the park, doing as many attractions as I could before the start of the party, I had to try the best snacks!
Food options before the event
Well, everything is open before the event, but I needed to try this Shrimp Gumbo with Cajun-spiced Sweet Potato Fries and Beignets from Golden Oak Outpost. The beignets are always a good idea, and the gumbo was new for me, but I loved it. I would definitely order it again.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party: Starts! – Trick-Or-Treat Locations
Another goal of tonight’s party was to get as much candy as possible, since it is included with the entrance. These are some snips of the guide map showing the many locations to get the candy, and some other information.

And you can find these locations easily, just looking for these big inflatables.

Character encounters
There are many, many character encounters during the event. Some will have their own mini show like the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet, located in Frontierland…

Others like Stitch will have their own meet and greet. And many other would be at the Trick-Or-Trick locations, during the Hocus Pocus show or during the Parade.

Maleficent interacting with guests in line in one of the many Trick-Or-Trick locations:

And probably my favorite of the night, the meet and greet with Mirabel and Bruno from Encanto.

Food Options during the event
I had a list of what I wanted to try from the party, and after having that delicious gumbo, and saving one of the beignets in my Ziploc bag, I had to eat the Dulce de Leche, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Sauce Funnel Cake from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. I am such a fan of Dulce de Leche, and I had to give this a chance. It was so good, and big as well. Perfect for a rainy night like this one.

Next up, and right on time before the parade started, I went to Casey’s Corner in Main Street, and tried the Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Hot Dog. Not sure if I am the biggest fan of this, but it was probably more spicy than what I expected.

Later, I got the Spicy Pork Spring Roll from Friar’s Nook, and you cannot go wrong with spring rolls. I saved one for later tho lol.

The last treat I had was one I got the previous year. I was scared that I had it so late this night, but here I was drinking the Witches Cold Brew from Aunty Gravity. Definitely love it, and would get it again.

Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade
This is a packed event in a very rainy night. One of the parades had been canceled, but here I was waiting for the next one to start. Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade was fun and a nice showcase of very different characters. But yeah, since I was at the end of it in Main Street, I had to wait more than 30 min for it to make it there, and felt like wasted time I could use at another Trick-Or-Treat location, or ride.

The wait was worthy tho. So many characters and It had stopped raining hard for a bit.

The host of tonight’s event.

I don’t remember having seeing The Hitchhiking Ghosts before, and even less in a parade, so here they were, awesome!

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
It started raining again, and was wondering why Disney did not cancelled tonight’s event. They probably would not want to deal with all these customers and their own situations. The next thing in this long night was the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. I was kind of excited about it, and most of it took place…

Until there was a PA saying the show had to be cancelled. It was raining A LOT on these actors!

Attractions during the event
I had to flip a coin and risk everything after the fiasco of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. Should I wait for 40 min until the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, which are the fireworks, or ride Tron right now, since I do not even know if that event will take place with all the raining? I was nervous, but I thought I could do both. Well, Tron was way longer than expected, and the fireworks had started by the time I came out of the ride.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
I could not see whatever was being presented on the castle, but at least I got to see the fireworks. I was making my way around the park to visit every Trick-Or-Treat location, so while I walked to Fantasyland, I just in awe with the fireworks under the heavy rain.

With the smoke and the rain, the light looked so amazing, wow!

Very spectacular, but sad that I missed the main show 🙁

The end of the event
The event ran to midnight. In my heart I wanted to complain in Guest Services and get something out of all of the cancellations and rain. But I still had a lot of fun, and my backpack was full of candy lol. Before the event event ended, just because of the rain, I said bye to Magic Kingdom.

And I was not the only one with that idea.

The next day I woke up very early for the first flight coming out of Orlando to NYC. I slept mere hours to be on at the airport before 5 AM. But I was surprised the Universal Orlando Resort store in the MCO was open.

Conclusion
Despite the rain, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was a blast! From trick-or-treating to riding my favorites like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Haunted Mansion, every moment was packed with spooky fun. The parade, fireworks, and meet-and-greets made the experience unforgettable, even with a few weather-related hiccups. Sure, I got soaked, but I also got a bag full of candy, some delicious snacks, and amazing memories. With my Orlando trip coming to an end, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my last night—hurricane and all!
