Disney Wish Cruise Day 3: Aqua Mouse, Castaway Cay Paradise, and Pirate Night Extravaganza
Intro
Hey everyone! 🌟 Welcome back to my adventure on the Disney Wish Cruise! It’s day 3, and it was an absolute blast! We kicked off the morning with some magical coffee at Wishing Star Cafe on Deck 4 before heading to Marceline Market for a breakfast feast featuring Mickey waffles 🧇✨. The Aqua Mouse ride on Deck 13 was a splash-tastic thrill🎢🐠.
Our journey took us to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in The Bahamas. From biking trails to the serene views of Serenity Bay, it was pure paradise 🏝️. The fun didn’t stop there; dinner was a pirate-themed extravaganza at Arendelle, capped off with a spectacular Pirates in the Caribbean show and fireworks on Deck 11 🎆🏴☠️. Stay tuned for all the details of this unforgettable day! 🚢🌴
Starting the Day: Wishing Star Cafe and Marceline Market
It was Day 3 of this cruise, and you can ready more of this journey in the previous blog posts:

For the previous days, we had gotten coffee from Cove Cafe on the Adults Only area at Deck 13, using one of those Café Fanatic rewards card; you’ll get every sixth specialty coffee free! That was very helpful, and it also worked in Wishing Star Cafe in Deck 4, so we decided to get the coffee this time from there.

After we got ready, we went to the Senses Fitness gym for a quick cardio and machines session, and then got breakfast from Marceline Market at Deck 11. Pro-Tip: There’s is a stand on this restaurant where they will make your omelet and will bring it to your table.

They also had Mickey shaped waffles and of course I had to get them.

Aqua Mouse
It was today or never. I had been begging to do the Aqua Mouse on this cruise, but there was either a long line or no time to do it. Since it seemed most people had gotten out to Castaway Cay already, we decided to do it when nobody was on deck.
We got ready with our swimsuits and got into the attraction. There was no wait time. We left our stuff on the cubicles right next to the entrance, and got on the Aqua Mouse.
The attraction is cute, start very slow with the scenes, which I do not think were very clear for me plot wise. Then the fun started and we were moved quickly, on a system similar to the aqua coaster in Universal’s Volcano Bay. We got a little wet after set and done, and it was so quick, that we decided to do it again right away.

After we were done, it was time to collect our stuff and get ready for a day at Disney’s Private Island: Castaway Cay.

Getting to Castaway Cay
We used our Key to the World card to debark, and started walking into this island.
Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in The Bahamas, is a tropical paradise featuring pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush landscapes. Guests enjoy activities like snorkeling, biking, and relaxing at the adults-only Serenity Bay. It’s a slice of heaven with Disney magic, perfect for families and adventurers alike. 🏝️✨
There’s a tram from the cruise to the main area of the island.

We decided to walk, and enjoy the beautiful views of this cruise and the splendid water.

It was already 11:30 am, and all the characters were gone. We were late but it did not mean we were not full of things to do. Although, because of Pirate Night tonight, we had to be back by 3:30 PM, so early!

Bike Trails and Observation Tower
At the end of the walk we got some sliced fruit from Cookie’s BBQ and went to the Bike Rental station.

The cast member was super generous offering us both bikes to have them all day for the same price of 1 hour. So we use them as our transportation for the rest of the day. First, we hit the bike trails, very fun, and even though very hot, we were able to race to the first destination…

Which was the Observation Tower. I was in shock seeing people just walking here. It is a little bit away from everything else, but the distance is not that important, but the heat. Wow.

We went up the 3 decks this tower has, and saw the Disney Wish cruise way on the back of this flat island. It looked majestic.

We finished that bike trail, but had to go all the way to the other on the West side, parallel to Serenity Bay. It was a lot of fun, and there was water waiting for us. Also, we could see the Serenity Bay. Access to the beach on this side is forbidden though.

Serenity Bay Beach
Serenity Bay, located on Disney’s Castaway Cay, is an adults-only beach offering tranquil vibes and pristine beauty. With crystal-clear waters, soft sandy shores, and secluded spots, it’s the perfect escape for relaxation and peace amidst the tropical paradise of The Bahamas. 🌴✨
First stop after docking our bikes, was Castaway Bar to get drinks, all paid with the key to the world card.
Then, we got our chairs away from everyone else on this beautiful day, and just decided to relax.

After around an hour, we got hungry and went to get some food from the Cookies BBQ spot on the Serenity Bay side of the island. The food was very good, I would say better than the last time I had been on this island.

After lunch, we relaxed on the beach a little bit more. Look how beautiful the water is.

Return to the ship
We left Serenity Bay, and headed back to the bikes that we docked at the entrance of the beach. From there, we biked again to the bike trails, and then again to return the bikes. And no, Pablo Escobar was not the owner of Castaway Cay. However, he did have a connection to the island. Before Disney purchased it, the island, then known as Gorda Cay, was allegedly used by drug smugglers, including those associated with Escobar, as a stopover point. Disney transformed the island into a family-friendly destination after acquiring it in the 1990s.

We got back into the ship again using only the Key to the World card, and off we went away from it.

Pirate Night Dinner
Today it was Pirate Night, and everyone was repeating the same rotational restaurant where they were yesterday. In our case, we came back to Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, but this time there was no show, no characters AND the menu was completely different.

I was of course going to favor the seafood, so for appetizer I got the Angelica’s Lime Marinated Shrimp with Chili. White Corn, Sweet Potato and Onion.

I also got the Deep Fried Calypso Crab Cake with Cajun Remoulade, Green Onion and Lemon. It was actually really good, loved the spices on this one.

For the main entree I got the Jack’s Treasure-of-the-Seas: Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops served with Spinach, Strings of Pasta Tomato Provençal Sauce and black Tomato Pearls. I am personally not a fan of the pasta, so I barely touched but the shrimp and scallops were delicious. I just love seafood so much.

And talking about seafood, of course I had to get this one to share: Cortes Cilantro Marinated Caribbean Grouper Filet on Curried Rice served with a Mango, Lime, Avocado, Red Onion and Black Bean Salsa. Exquisite, loved every single bite of it.

For dessert, even though I felt pretty full, we got the Rum-Soaked Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Glaze and Whipped Cream. Very solid and filling.

And to share, I got the Coconut Crème Flan served with Tropical Fruits, but I do not think this was a flan.

Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean
We came to find the bandanas on our stateroom, and quickly got ready to go to the deck 11 for the Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean.

The celebration is during sunset, and showcases many of the characters on this cute show.

Minnie, the captain, had to fight Hook with the help of her friends and Mickey.

The show was cute but very missable to be honest. I would probably skip it for next time, especially after a day at the beach and a big seafood dinner.

The crowd was amazing though. Everyone was wearing their bandanas and their especial Pirate outfit.

Fairytale Fresh Laundry
All these time, since before the dinner, we had had our laundry in the Fairytale Fresh Laundry located in Deck 8. With the Key to the World you could easily activate both the laundry and the dryer. Some kind lady gave us detergent, but otherwise we were able to wash and dry our clothes, and we picked them up after the show. The DCL app would message you when everything is ready.

Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party & Fireworks at Sea
Finally, the time we had been waiting all day and night. It was almost 10:30 PM when the second Pirate show happened: Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party. This is the one that includes the Fireworks at Sea, and exclusivity of the Disney Cruise Line.

I was not the biggest fan of the music and show, but when the fireworks started I was in such an awe, Beautiful wherever I would see them.

After the fireworks, the show continued for a few minutes, but everyone was so tired that started to disperse. A few people continued dancing on Deck 11.

To finish this spectacular night, I went to get some pastries from Inside Out: Joyful Sweets at Deck 11, and wow, definitely a lot of options. I ended up just getting an ice cream, and that is how our very very packed day ended. The next day was going to be a Day at Sea, so let’s see how that one was going to be.
