Let’s get back in time
In our las blog post I explained what we did right before this cruise:
What We Did in Florida Before and After Our Disney Wish Cruise
But basically we purchased it a year in advance and now we were 3 days to board it:

The Disney Cruise Line app was letting us know that the cruise was coming fast, but the preparation for this cruise was long, for almost a year now. I wanted so summarize more or less what we did in this year:
March 2023: Purchase Cruise, pay deposit.
June 2023: Buy Flights and Hotels.
November 2023: Buy remaining flights.
January 2024: List activities and do research of what to do, buy Excursions? Decide transportation? Pay remaining balance.
February 2024: Decide what to do after the cruise, parks? For Check In: Collect Photos, Passport.
March 2024: Finish list of things to do. Check In for Cruise. Get tags deliver to home.
April 2024: Actual cruise sailing. Check in for flights, pack.
Embarkation
We arrived earlish to our designated boarding time of 11:45 AM, but our group was promptly called to board. This terminal is always great to see in person.

As with every Disney cruise, they call your family name upon entrance, and now we were in the Grand Hall of the Disney Wish!

Wow, the center piece of the atrium was really beautiful the space seems huge and pristine. The colors not too traditional but still fancy, and we got some characters saying hi to us from the upper floors. Prince Charming was on top of the main balcony.

Marceline Market
Marceline Market is the main buffet style place to find food on board of the Disney Wish. As in every Disney cruise, food and regular beverages including soda are included with the price, different from Royal Caribbean. While at sea eat a lot of seafood, and that’s what I did. The crab legs, shrimp and everything in between were sooo good.

Hero Zone
Hero Zone on the Disney Wish is an action-packed sports and recreation area featuring an inflatable obstacle course, sports courts, and interactive games. It’s perfect for family fun, offering exciting activities and game-show-style competitions for all ages. Some characters, like Donald the Duck, can appear sometimes during events.

The Stateroom
Stateroom 2571 on the Deck 2 was our home for the next 4 nights. It was an interior room designated after the purchase, so we did not know it was going to be on the 2nd Floor. It took me a while to realize, and when I did, I checked the deck map and noticed that the Disney’s Oceaneer Club was on the same deck. I panicked. I called DCL, and they basically calmed down saying it would not be loud. And also, it was on the same deck, but still far from the Oceaneer Club by walking distance. The rooms were ready by 1:45 PM.

Voila! We were inside. And it was not that bad. I had purchased some water that was waiting for us. But the Cinderella Castle on the back and the storage space was actually very good.

Set Sail on a Wish Deck Party
After relaxing in my stateroom, we decided to go to the Set Sail on a Wish Deck Party, which happened minutes before the Sailing time at 4:00 PM. People were gathering in Deck 11 to finally have the first show of this sailing.

The Sensational Six were in charge of the entertainment, and just listening to the Disney horn made me so happy. But when I used to work by the Manhattan Pier, I would hear it every day around 4-5 PM and always dreamt of getting on those cruise, and now I was here.

And off we went! Bye Port Canaveral, see you soon. For now, we were going to go to Nassau in The Bahamas.

The Allure of the Seas from Royal Caribbean was also leaving port.

Worlds of Marvel: The Show
After another relaxation time, we got ready and went to the first Dining Time (which we reserved) at Worlds of Marvel, as part of the rotational dining on this cruise.
Worlds of Marvel basically combines dishes inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, showcasing the Ant-Man and The Wasp, and many other superheroes on screen, similar to Animators Palate in the other cruises.

The bread was a little bit stale but overall good with the butter.

And after a bit, the show started in multiple screens all around the walls. Ant-Man and The Wasp were the main heroes or hosts of the night, but the entire show had Captain America, Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and the villain Ultron.

You can see the whole show here:
The show was cool, I mean I am a fan of the MCU and all the Marvel movies and TV shows, but it kept being interrupted but the service, not only of our table but the other tables. And talking about that, be ready to share your table with other people through the entire cruise in every restaurant. It is usually the same guests and the same servers.

Worlds of Marvel: The Food
Now, about the food. This is where this restaurant gets the most critiques. I ordered the Rosemary Roasted Beef Tenderloin, a dish from the fictional nation of Madripoor. In general, it was good. I liked that it was medium rare and very bloody.

As an entree I had ordered a Lam Shawarma salad to share, and it was huge lol. It was very good tho. I liked how wet it was with all the sauces.

I could say that the dishes that we ordered were good. I am going to admit that it is not the exceptional party of flavors that other restaurants in the DCL have, but I think they are pretty good. Now, for dessert, we got the Pym Doughnut Sundae and Cheesecake Byte. The sundae was humongous, and the donut on top was just too much. But both desserts were really good. For clarification, you can order all you want from the menu in any of the rotational restaurants, all included in your reservation.

Worlds of Marvel: Spider-Man
Something that I believe was added relatively lately was the interaction with Spider-Man during the dessert portion of the dinner.

He very VERY quickly showed up, and started saying hi to all the tables in a flash. People had to have their cameras ready to get a quick selfie with him. The whole thing was messy, but after missing the picture on the table, while getting out I was able to get one with him.
Weird seeing Spidey on this side of the US, but I guess we were in international waters, and that contract with Universal does not apply here.

Senses Fitness
After the dinner, we were full and decided to explore the ship. We went to the gym at Senses Fitness. Senses Fitness on the Disney Wish is a state-of-the-art gym offering a variety of workout equipment, fitness classes, and wellness programs. It’s the perfect place to stay active and rejuvenate while enjoying your cruise vacation.

We were going to spend some time here in the next 4 days.

Disney Seas the Adventure
Since we got the first dining, now we were getting the second Disney Seas the Adventure show of the night. So, we went to the Walt Disney Theatre to this cute spectacular theatrical show that features beloved Disney characters, stunning visuals, and captivating performances, creating an enchanting entertainment experience for guests of all ages.

Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge
Finally, one of the reasons I booked this cruise was to go into this lounge. Seems surreal but now I was entering the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge.

The screen behind the bar simulates Hyperspace travel every few minutes, to destinations very common in the Star Wars universe.

Later in the night it got more busy, and now it was time to order some drinks.

We got the Moons of Endor and Batuu cocktails, and let me tell you, they were very strong lol. I was having a great embarkation day, and this was the perfect way to finish it.

While drinking and talking, it was fascinating to see where we would go next. The seats where we were, shake during the hyperspace travel.

Trivia at The Bayou
It was very late at night, and we had Nassau the next morning as first stop. Right outside of Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, we could find The Bayou, and some trivia game was happening. I did not participate, but it is interesting how many activities are available even late at night.
We finally went to bed and rested ready for a second day on this cruise.
