This time, I had gotten an upper level suite, with access to the VIP area where I could get breakfast and a snack in the afternoon.

And well, I could not complain about the view, located in the top floor of the hotel.

Hyatt Regency Cartagena: The Amenities

The multiple pools of this hotel were an incentive for this stay. Loved the adults only pool with the multiple views of Bocagrande.

And a view of the Hotel Estelar, where I had stayed in the past. Another highrise of 50 floors right next to Hyatt.

One of the best parts of this reservation was the access to the VIP lounge area in the 30th floor, for Breakfast and Afternoon Snack. Both times in a buffet style, with delicious local and international food and drinks. We had wine every time.

But the best time was seeing the sunset from this lounge over the Caribbean sea. It was beautiful every day I was in Cartagena.

The fitness center was small but enough for a short stay in this hotel.

The Historical Center

The Old Town of Cartagena is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasting cobblestone streets lined with colorful colonial buildings adorned with balconies overflowing with flowers. It’s a charming labyrinth of history, culture, and vibrant energy.

I wandered that night with some friends to check on the best food that this city had to offer.

The architecture was too distracting trying to find the restaurants.

And after some time, we went into San Pedro Restaurant, and I got the salmon. The food was delicious. I also got some michelada with the local beer.

We continued exploring the streets of the Historical Center, and got some ice creams as well. The evening was great, but the next morning I was going on a tour.

A beautiful sunrise

We woke up early for a tour to the Rosario Islands, and of course, just like the sunsets, the sunrises had to be as magical.

Back to New York City

It was the 10th day of this trip to Colombia, and time for me to go back to New York City. At the CTG Cartagena International Airport I had to get some mochas at Juan Valdez.

After Customs and Emigration, and a sad goodbye to my family, I went to the International waiting area in the airport. There are a lot of food offerings and souvenirs.

My Jetblue flight was ready to board, and here I was, on a 4 hour and 30 minutes flight directly to New York City.

As we departed, I looked at my city, and my country, which had given me 10 glorious days of relaxation, adventure, discovery and fun. I will be back!
