Cabañas Alto del Aguila
The day before, we had enjoyed getting to know the Amazon river and the jungle, today it was more about relaxing and contemplating the nature.
It was very early in the morning, and after having a provided breakfast by the tour, we went into kayaking mode on the Amazon river. I would have never in my life guessed I was going to kayak in river with the most flowing water in the world.

After this good exercise, we disembarked in the Cabañas Alto del Aguila Wildlife Sanctuary to see some of the animals kept roaming free in here.

Many different types of monkeys would be curious about our presence: Tamarin, Squirrel and Capuchin monkeys were the most present.

The Squirrel Monkeys were the most playful. We went up this wooden structure to play with them and take a lot of pics, They swarmed us.

A pair of guacamayas almost attacked us lol. They were a bit violent, but they did like the food,

In one of the ponds we found the mata mata turtles, with their very peculiar head shape.

And some little puppies were also just resting around.

The entire area was beautiful, with the Colombian flag on top adding additional flare.

We spent some time here, and a lot of international tourist, from Argentina, Spain, Germany, China, were enjoying this area as well.

A last show for this spot, was brought by the Changeable hawk, who will come get some food in all its majesty.

The fauna was not all it was to offer. The flora was also present and really beautiful in this location. The orchid is the national flower of Colombia.

Mirador Puerto Nariño
We kayaked back into Puerto Nariño, and after a great lunch, we went to the Mirador. A big tower with spectacular views of the Amazon river and the town.

Before heading to the boat that would take us back to Leticia, we purchased some souvenirs, and I was surprised how good they looked, love all the colors.

Mid afternoon it was time to get back to Leticia, and going down the river is probably more fun lol.

Tabatinga, Brazil
Once we docked, I grabbed my suitcase and got into a moto-taxi. I told Mariela, the driver, to take me on a quick tour of Tabatinga, Brazil. To go into this city, no passports or visas are required, since there is no Customs Booths in the border.

In this town she quickly took me to a currency exchange, where I got some Reales (Brazilian currency), and got some souvenirs, pao de queijos, and traditional Brazilian chocolates called Garoto.

She also took me around the town, and to some lookouts for the Amazon River.

It was getting late, and a heavy storm suddenly appeared. It was time to get back to the airport. I could not get wet on the way back to Bogota. But she did a great job, and I tipped her very well.

To Bogota, to Cartagena
The storm was so heavy, I thought my flight would be cancelled, but no. Thankfully, the plane landed and the storm cleared. Now it’s time for Bogota.

We got so late to Bogota, and my flight back to Cartagena was the next morning, so I stayed the night close to BOG El Dorado International Airport. Slept a couple of hours and went back just to get to Cartagena.

After 1 hour flying, I could see the south of Cartagena, the industrial area of Mamonal.

Few minutes later I landed, and I still have some adventures left in this city.
