CineSational and Hogwarts Always: Must-See Shows
Intro
After a whirlwind start to my Orlando adventure, it was time to head back to Universal Studios Florida for two evenings packed with must-see shows. With limited time and a few final days left on my Annual Pass, I was determined to catch CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular and Hogwarts Always. These performances had become highlights of the summer, and I couldn’t leave without experiencing them one last time. The challenge? Fitting in Disney Springs’ Disney Dreams That Soar as well. It was going to be a busy couple of nights!
Back to Universal Studios Florida
My goal for these 2 consecutive evenings was to see the 2 shows that Universal Orlando was offering for the Summer: CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular and Hogwarts Always. It was probably the last time I was going to see them, but also, I had limited evenings in Orlando in this trip, and I also wanted to see the Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs Disney Dreams That Soar drone show. Fortunately, there were a couple of showings for the last one every night, weather permitting, and for the Hogwarts show, there were multiple shows every evening.

A beautiful sunset was telling us it was almost time for the CineSational show in Universal Studios Florida, and here I was coming once again, using my Annual Pass for one of the last times (It was days from expiration).

The sunset was beautiful but the show was a bit later at 9:00 PM.

Fortunately, the Annual Pass holders had an exclusive viewing area in Central Park, and before heading there I was able to get a snack from the Central Park Crepes stand.

CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular
CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular is a cinematic concert experience featuring iconic film scores performed live by a symphony orchestra. Accompanied by visual projections, a drone show, a water show, it highlights memorable moments from blockbuster movies, blending music and film for an immersive, emotional journey that captivates audiences with epic soundscapes and stunning visuals.
After some time waiting, and on my spot I had picked, the show started.

The drone show was amazing, some of the highlighted movies were: Shrek, Jaws!, Despicable Me (Minions), King Kong, E.T. The Extraterrestrial, Harry Potter, among others.

The drone show was amazing, even more than the Disney Springs one that I was going to check the next day. I was in awe, since I had never seen a drone show before. Later in the year, I would see even more amazing ones in Paris.

With the Universal logo made out of drones, the show ended, and wow, I almost cried. It was amazing. This show will be back in November 2024, so if you are coming to Universal later this year, you should check it out.

A tale of two evenings
1 out of 3 shows done. Now I had to head back to the hotel to rest, it was pretty late, and then tomorrow I would be back to see the Hogwarts Always show at the other Universal park.

Another day and I was rushing to Universal to catch a glimpse of the Hogwarts show. The Uber dropped me off at this area in CityWalk. I had to rush to Islands of Adventure.

It was almost time for the show, although the app did not say a specific time, I found out it would be after sunset.

People were just chilling and watching the sunset, the heat and crowds were intense.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure
I finally arrived to Islands of Adventure. I checked the Universal App and noticed that some rides had lower times, maybe I could squeeze an attraction before heading to the show. Too risky?

The Adventure Begins indeed!

And yes, without thinking it twice, I went into The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. I just love this ride, and gave me some time for the night to actually fall, in time for the show at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Hogwarts Always
It had gotten darker and rushed to see the show, I heard fireworks and got nervous. Oh no! The show was over and did not see it. I went as fast and safe as I could towards Hogsmeade, passing though the big Jurassic Park section of the park.

I asked around to some cast members and the show was bound to happen a few times during the evening. So I got in position to see it once again.

And after a lot of anticipation, the show started.

Hogwarts Always is a nostalgic tribute concert celebrating the magical world of Harry Potter. Featuring orchestral performances of iconic scores by John Williams and others, a light show and fireworks, it transports fans back to Hogwarts with enchanting visuals and beloved scenes. A must for any fan, it’s a spellbinding, immersive experience.

The part where the Hogwarts express arrives, so iconic!

And the fireworks ending, bravo!

2 out of 3 shows done!

Ending the evening!
But I was not done for the day. I needed to go on Velocicoaster once again, even if it was the last thing I would do today.

And after a long wait in this wonderful, thrilling roller coaster, I was done. Time to get back to the hotel, but not before passing by these amazing projections in CityWalk. I still had to go see the show at Disney Springs, but that will be resolved in the next entry!
