From JFK to Punta Cana
It was very early in the morning, and we had to check in the airport, since we could not get the boarding passes the day before. The line was long but we were on time.
After going through Customs, we were called to board and in the rain, we departed on this Delta flight to PUJ International Airport of Punta Cana.

After about 3 hours of flight, we were in more clear skies landing in Punta Cana.

The Customs process was a bit slow, but we manage to get through easily. Reminded me a bit of the Santo Domingo experience on the last trip. Once outside, we took an Uber to the hotel, but this time I was very careful with the Uber driver. Last time, they tried to scam me hard.
After about 30 minutes, we were in the Caribe Deluxe Princess Resort.

Caribe Deluxe Princess Resort
Caribe Deluxe Princess Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, is a luxurious tropical escape nestled among palm trees and pristine beaches. The resort offers elegantly designed rooms, exquisite dining options, and a rejuvenating spa experience.
Guests can enjoy lounging by the pools or partake in a variety of water sports. Whether seeking relaxation or adventure, Caribe Deluxe Princess Resort provides an unforgettable Caribbean getaway.

Our room did not have the best view but at least we were able to see the Caribbean sea from here. The beach looked very tempting from up here.

The rooms were very big too. We ran to grab the last of the lunch buffet and started to get ready for the beach.

In this resort alcoholic drinks were included, and of course we had some of them. Margaritas? Of course! Pina Coladas? Definitely.

After a while at the beach, it was time to go for dinner, and continue exploring the hotel. We saw the sunset on the way back into the hotel.

The architecture of the resort was very Caribbean style. I loved it.

A Relaxing Beach Day
We slept in after a long first day, and woke up to have breakfast on the buffet.

We wanted to get a more elaborated coffee, like a mocha, and for that we had to go to the front area of the hotel, to the Coffee House. You could take a little shuttle from the room/pool area to the lobby area, or you could walk. By walking, we got to see a lot of wildlife, including ducks and iguanas.

The resort was not super full, so the beach was for us. We took some beach chairs and stayed there most of the day, maybe going into the water or on the pool. The goal was to relax today.

For lunch, we had some options on the Beach House, by the pool and from there, we could get drinks as well.

After a beautiful day, this gorgeous sunset was waiting for us. We got into the heated pool and stayed until the night time.

This night we went into the Punta Cana Downtown, did some bar jumping and then came back very late at night to the hotel to get some late night food the sports bar, which is open all night.

The Boat Tour
It was a new day, but the day before we had scheduled and bought this boat tour to the Piscina Natural (Natural Pool) on the south of Punta Cana. It was a private boat, and we were so ready for it.
The boat was coming late, so in the meantime they sent this little starting boat that was going to pick us up to transfer us into the bigger boat. I hated being in this little thing lol.

We thankfully transferred to the bigger boat, and went south parallel to the coast.

We got to see all the resorts from the boat.

The water started to get even more crystalline.

After a while, we got to Ocean Adventures, something similar to the Oceanarium in Cartagena, Colombia. We saw some animals, like rays and dolphins.

But then and even more southern, we got to the destination, the Piscina Natural, an area where the water is about 60 cm to 1.2 meters deep, perfect to have music on and enjoy the ambience. We walked to the coast from here, and the sediments made the walk a little weird on our feet lol. It was very muddy, but then we took amazing pictures from the secluded beach.

After a while enjoying this area, it was time to be dropped off at the hotel, and continue with our day.

Bye bye Punta Cana
The next day was a day on the mall, and then going into the airport. The rest of the group would stay, but I needed to be back into New York City.

And after a long flight, we got to the snowy Newark. It was so weird to be in the warm waters and weather of the Caribbean, and then be back to a snowstorm.

The contrast was crazy, but now I needed to make it into New York. Thankfully, the PATH was still open.

Got into the Oculus in World Trade Center, and from here, taking the MTA was super easy. I was glad I was back in New York, but I am going to miss the tropical weather of Dominican Republic.
