Tokyo DisneySea During A Rainy Day: Best Things To Do
I had already spent a few hours in Tokyo DisneySea, and I could say it was one of my favorite parks in the world. It was just so beautiful and with so much attention to detail, even more than the original parks in my opinion.
The American Waterfront was very cute, and gave you the illusion that you were right next to the water, even though there is a whole road and the Disney Resort Line right behind those rocks.

Tower of Terror
I was kind of rushing to my Disney Premier Access to Tower of Terror, but I was kind of enjoying the views of Cape Cod and the S.S. Columbia. I wanted to eat in there but the lines were just crazy, no wonder why since it has finally started to rain.

I made it on time to my second Disney Premier Access of the night. You can only have get one at a time and this one cost 1,500 yen per access (approx. 12 USD). The line was extremely long, but with the pass it took me about 10 min to get to the front of the line. The storyline was quite different to the other Tower of Terrors, more New York oriented, which makes sense since this ride is located in a Manhattan like setting. But the premise was the same, a thrilling up and down elevator ride and it actually worked to wake me up even more in this afternoon.

Other Disney Premier Access I could buy after this one were Toy Story Mania! for 2,000 yen (approx. 15 USD), and Believe! Sea of Dreams for 2,500 yen (approx. 19 USD). When I went to ask in the Guest Relations office about the last one, they said they stopped selling them because it was very possible they would cancel the show due to the rain. The first one I was not really interested in buying it at this time. And also, I was waiting fot the time on Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea.

After this ride, it started to rain so hard, and I was kind of hungry that I made the line for a couple of restaurants including Ristorante di Canaletto in the Mediterranean Harbor. The line was super short but then a lady said the wait was for more than an hour. I quit this line and saw the Venetian Gondolas. I took a selfie here and sent it to my family saying I was in Venice and they actually believe it lol.
Journey to the Center of the Earth

The time was here to go to Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea. This one was the first Disney Premier Access that I bought but the one with the latest time because it sells out so fast in the morning. The price was 1,500 yen per access (approx. 11 USD).

The ride is located inside of the Mount Prometheus, and it is one of the most popular attraction in the whole Disneyland Resort, so if you can rope drop it or buy a Disney Premier Access, you should do it, otherwise the lines get super long with 100+ minutes wait.

The ride is an Underground Rollercoaster with a very particular car that would take you into the depths of the ocean and its misteries. It is a lot of fun and it is very different from any other attraction in the Disney parks.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of The Crystal Skull
With drizzles of rain falling, after I finished the ride, I went to Aquatopia at the Port Discovery land. After seeing what it was about, I do not know why I marked it as things to do, I would not waste my time on those floats, especially under the rain.

Trying to stay dry during this rain, I walked to Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of The Crystal Skull located at Lost River Delta land. I had been here earlier in the day for Raging Spirits, but the Indiana Jones line had just gotten so long that I decided to start doing Premier Access rides. Now, the wait time was not as crazy, and I had a lot of time to kill.

It was a bold choice to name this ride after the very critized 4th installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. The worst of the 4 movies some would say, but hey, the ride itself and the setting were very good.

Actually very similar to their counterpart on Indiana Jones in Disneyland California, and the other similar type of ride, Dinosaur in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando.

The ride was a lot of fun, but now I did not have anything left super important. The rain was here again, and I needed to go to the front of the park to step out for a second. Fortunately, I was ride next to the DisneySea Trainsit Steamer Line, which I had taken earlier in the day as well.

Ikspiari Shopping Mall
The DisneySea Transit Steamer took me to back to the front of the park to Mediterranean Harbor. After this I exited the park, the marked my wrist with UV ink to be able to come back in, and walked to the Monorail (Disney Resort Line). Surprisingly, and despite having done a research, the big shopping mall located within the Disney Resort area was never mentioned: Ikspiari Shopping Mall. I googled where to buy a belt and all the stores in this mall showed up. I also wanted to get some coffee and escape from the rain.

I did it. I got the Starbucks Cola Milk Coffee that I had seen the day before. To be honest, it was really good. I think I have seen other drinks with coffee and soda mixed together, but this one was a sugar rush that really needs to be studied lol. The price was 690 yen (approx. 5 USD).

The mall was full of fancy stores and restaurants with exorbitant prices, but also very affordable options. I found belts from 80 USD to 3 USD. I bought the cheapest one (I lost mine at a security check at the JFK Airport coming here).

I walked around the shopping mall, and while the rain was passing for a bit I jumped back into the monorail and now did a 360 degrees ride around Tokyo Disney Resort to get to the Tokyo DisneySea station.
Back in the park

The lady at the gate checked my wrist with the UV light (the one from the day before was still showing), and went back into Tokyo DisneySea.
Unfortunately, Tokyo Disney Resort does not implement park hopping. It is absurd you are forced to spend the entire day in just one park, especially since a lot of people come from the other side of the world and do not have all the time to explore these parks. They really need to start implementing the option to jump from park to park. The day before for example, I left Tokyo Disneyland because I got bored, and I would have definitely prefered coming to this other park in the middle of the day, and then come back there for the fireworks. I don’t know, maybe I am ranting but this is something that could affect your trip.

At this point, I was just waiting for the Believe! Sea of Dreams show later tonight. So, I just stayed put for a bit in the Mediterranean area and got a Mickey shaped donut from Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery. It was very delicious.

The night was falling and the rain was getting worst, at this time I was expecting the fireworks shows to be cancelled. I needed to kill more time, so I walked to Vulcania in MIsterious Land, where I was able to see the volcano finally erupt. Unfortunately tho, the restaurant was full and the line was pretty long. So, I decided to go back to a restaurant I had been to earlier in the morning: Yucatan Base Camp Grill, a quick service location, but also masquerading as another shelter during the rain. This time I did not take a picture but I got the baked chicken set for 1,420 yen (approx. 11 USD). Time flew by in there, so I rushed through the Mermaid Lagoon which was gorgeous at night, and went to the front of the park. I could not take the boat before they had stopped the service due to the fireworks happening later in the lake.

As I was getting to the front of the park, I was surprised how different and beautiful the entire park looked.

Believe! Sea of Dreams
Mount Prometheus also looked very cool with the projections, kind of reminded me of Universal’s Volcano Bay at night with those colors.

The Italian setting was so gorgeous, but now I needed to find a spot to see the the show. I noticed all the people that got the Premier Access already seating on the designated areas wearing their ponchos. I noticed you could see the show literally from anywhere, but was it going to happen? That was the big question. I kept asking cast members if it was officially canceled and they kept saying that only 15 min before the official time, they would know if it’s cancelled or not.

But all of the sudden, the rain came really hard. Now, with heavy and chilly winds I needed to find shelter. I went inside one of the souvenir stores and checked for merchandise while the cold wind and rain were passing by, and after a few minutes it was confirmed in the speakers. The Believe! Sea of Dreams show was cancelled. I was a bit upset but I had been getting prepared for those news for a few hours now. The park would not closed for an hour but the weather was so horrible I just decided to leave.

And just in time for a monorail to arrive and take me to the hotel, to grab my suitcase and then go to my new hotel. The Keiyo Line took me straight to the Tokyo Station, very closeby to my home for the night.
Leaving Tokyo DisneySea and Conclusions

The facade of the Marunouchi Ekimae Square at Tokyo Station surprised me, I did not know they had a European style building around. But now I walked to my hotel: Keio Presso Inn Otemachi.

The room was not fancy by any means but I had what I needed for the night. I was not going to be able to sleep in since I had my train to Osaka at 6:00 AM to go to Universal Studios Japan.

In conclusion, I did a few rides including:
- DisneySea Transit Steamer Line
- Soaring: Fantastic Flight
- Tower of Terror
- Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of The Crystal Skull
- Raging Spirits
- The Magic Lamp Theater
- 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
- Journey to the Center of The Earth
Not so bad, but still missing the main attraction of the park: The Believe! Sea of Dreams fireworks show. Well, maybe another reason to come back sometime, hopefully with better weather.
But now, it was time to sleep and get ready for another rushing trip to my next leg of this Round The World: Osaka.
